Background

Sam has practised in the field of Intellectual Property since 2007. After starting his career at a large private practice, Sam spent several years working as in-house counsel responsible for global management of IP for a core product category and new technologies. Sam joined Secerna in September 2016.

Prior to joining the patent profession, Sam studied aerospace engineering during which time he also gained experience of working for a large aerospace company. Following graduation, Sam joined a small motorsport consultancy involved in chassis development.

Sam has extensive experience of working with SMEs and larger firms in the development of IP portfolios, advising on risks associated with bringing products to market and advising on enforcement of IP rights. Sam has developed a special interest in conducting due diligence in connection with investment decisions, acquisitions and mergers.
