Amelia has practised in the field of intellectual property since 2016, working in the advanced engineering, electronics and ICT sectors.
Before entering the patent profession Amelia graduated from the University of York with a first-class masters degree in Theoretical Physics. Following this Amelia undertook a PhD at York Plasma Institute investigating instabilities in magnetic fusion devices, using computational modelling techniques. During her PhD she had longstanding collaborations with physicists at the DIII-D National Fusion Facility in San Diego, US, and Culham Centre for Fusion Energy in Oxfordshire, UK.
Amelia joined Secerna in October 2016 as a trainee patent attorney.
